Whew, we made it to a new year!
There are plans to extract myself from my couch and get back into a proper recording studio in the fall, and I can’t wait to make music with real live breathing humans again.
In the meantime, I’ve decided to make it through the winter by doing some home recording and putting out a lyric video once a month to showcase some new songs I’ve been working on.
Party of One is the latest tune to arrive out of a dream I had a couple of days after Christmas. As I put the slide show together, I realized it’s not only about mourning the demise of a relationship, but it’s also speaking to the intensity of pandemic isolation and the collective grief we’re all feeling right now about the year we just lost.
