Ahh, where to begin? Just winding down my five-week sojourn in Eastern Canada, heading home with a million lovely images in my brain. What a gorgeous amazing country we live in.
Here’s a brand new song recorded live off the floor on a very rainy day at Hotel2tango in Montreal, with Howard Bilerman at the board and Charlie Hase on the pedal steel.
This is the first tune to come out of my Banff residency in March, and I love to play it so much. The drop-D tuning is one of my favourites, it resonates on a soul level for me, and the lyrics speak to the singer/songwriter journey and how it’s kind of like panning for gold. Sometimes rough, sometimes joyful, not always appreciated, but we do it anyway. Hope you like it. : )
