June 2021

This very special gig poster is from 45 years ago. I got to play on a beautiful stage overlooking English Bay on a gorgeous early summer day to help launch the Phyllis Cormack on another campaign against the Pacific whaling fleets.

My connection with the origins of Greenpeace goes back to countless evenings sitting around a table at the Cecil Hotel, swilling beer and eavesdropping on the original gang of hipsters as they hashed out some big ideas and hatched their mad plans. Ad hoc staff photographer Robert Keziere was part of our family for awhile, and I was very lucky to have had some fun sessions in front of his camera.

Those evenings inspired the Whale Song, and I was honoured to get the opportunity to play it at Habitat Form that day. (My Joni and James influences are showing on this one!)
